Managing lower back pain and sciatica can become complicated when symptoms, instructions, appointments, and daily responsibilities are spread across different people and places. This companion is designed for people managing acute, recurring, or persistent lower-back symptoms, including spine-related leg pain. It creates one organized location for the observations, questions, and provider-directed information that are most useful between visits. The goal is not to make the reader responsible for diagnosing or treating a health problem. The goal is to make the lived experience easier to describe, the plan easier to follow, and conversations with qualified professionals more productive.

What This Companion Helps Organize

The companion brings together pain location and quality, leg symptoms, numbness or tingling, sleep and positioning, sitting and standing tolerance, walking, lifting, flare patterns, work demands, medication questions, and provider-approved home-plan follow-through. Guided check-ins help the reader record what happened, when it happened, what was being done at the time, how long the change lasted, and how it affected daily function. This creates a more useful picture than isolated memories or a single symptom rating. It also gives the reader a dependable place to retain instructions, write down questions before appointments, and note the next steps established by the care team.

Daily Life and Participation

Health concerns matter because of what they change in everyday life. This companion connects observations and care-team guidance with dressing, bathing, sleep, driving, household tasks, lifting, work, caregiving, exercise, and community participation. The reader can identify activities that have become harder, patterns that improve or worsen participation, supports that have been helpful, and priorities to discuss at the next visit. Short, structured prompts are used so the resource can remain practical even on difficult or low-energy days.

Working With the Care Team

The companion supports communication with primary-care, spine, pain-management, and rehabilitation professionals.
